Onir, one of the most promising filmmakers of Indian cinema, will be a jury member at the 2nd Guwahati International Short Film Festival (GISFF), to be organized by Creovaent Productions in the city from May 4rth to 6th, 2012.
Onir’s acclaimed film ‘I AM’, a compendium of four short
films that won the National Award for the Best Hindi Film as well as received the
National Award for Best Lyrics recently, will have its North-East India
Premiere at the festival in the presence of the filmmaker.
Based
on issues of dilemmas that bruise the modern Indian society, the movie ‘I AM’ will be discussed by its maker,
Onir, who will also have a special interaction with the audience and the media
after the screening of his film, shot across four different cities across
India.
The jury, will be headed by Gautam
Bora senior filmmaker, along with Cyrus Dastur, founder of Shamiana, a popular
multi-city short film club, National Award winning director Sanjeev Hazarika
and National Award winning Film Critic for 2012 Manoj Barpujari.
The preview jury will be headed by
noted cinema and theater person Nayan Prasad, and will have other experts like
film critic Chandan Sarmah, editor Kaju and film society activist Nesimul
Mazid. The preview juries
will shortlist the entries for final screening at the festival
The
2nd Guwahati International Short Film Festival (GISFF), 2012 will
organize a number of seminars, workshops and open discussions in the month of
April as a run towards the international short film festival.
The
2012 festival cause of the year is “Anti-Tobacco” and to promote the same
series of street plays will be conducted with the support of 2nd
Guwahati International Short Film Festival (GISFF), 2012.
